Presqu'ile Winery
Presqu'ile Winery has been brining together wine enthusiasts of the Santa Maria community one glass at a time at their architecturally stunning tasting room, located in Santa Maria, CA.
"Located in the heart of Santa Barbara County’s Santa Maria Valley, Presqu’ile (pronounced press-KEEL) is a small, family-run winery dedicated to crafting exceptional cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc."
The location of Presqu'ile Winery is unique; sitting atop a hill overlooking the beauty of my hometown, the Santa Maria Valley. Just ask any of the locals, Presqu'ile has been such a positive influence on our community and a great addition to our local wine trail.
Presqu'ile has been creating Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rose of Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Nebbiolo, and a small amount of Champagned method Sparkling Wine since 2008, but the tasting room was officially opened in 2013.
They are most accredited for their Pinot Noir, although customer's preference is split fairly between reds, whites, and pinks. My personal favorite is their Sauvignon Blanc; light and tingly on the tongue with a refreshing finish. Even as a picky wine taster myself, I truly appreciate each wine they offer. No dump bowls needed, when at Presqu'ile I never let a drop go wasted.
Not only is the ambiance up-scale, clean, and sociable, but they have customer service to match. You are sure to be greeted with a friendly hello and to always have your glass full. The staff is knowledgeable and quick to fill your request whether it be a mouth watering Charcuterie board that is sure to please any palette, more vino, or even a tour of their wine caves.
When asked what the best part of having a winery on the Central Coast is, the winery responded with:
"From a winemaking standpoint, the climate and soil conditions of the Central Coast, particularly the Santa Maria Valley, are ideal for crafting wines of grave, longevity, and balance. And, of course, we love the close-knit community we've become a part of, particularly the wine community, on the Central Coast. People are down-to-earth, friendly, and genuinely care about each other."
I believe my favorite part about this local winery is the property itself. The beautiful and Greek inspired outdoor Ampitheatre hosts many live concerts all year round. You can even play horse shoes or bocce ball while enjoying your wine and small bites to eat. They also host private events, including weddings, equipped with a bridal suite that's sure to make any bride and groom's venue dreams come true.
Be sure to grab a group of friends and a designated driver so you can come enjoy this winery to its fullest extent. It's impossible to not have the best time at Presqu'ile as you'll be leaving with a smile and hopefully plenty of bottles of vino.
